Following the update, the clinic emphasizes the use of biomimetic materials that are free from potentially disruptive chemicals such as mercury and BPA. Biomimetic fillings imitate the mechanical properties of patients’ original teeth and closely match their color and translucency for a natural-looking result.

Holistic dentistry, also known as integrative and alternative dentistry combines conventional treatments with complementary practices such as nutrition education, lifestyle counseling, and natural remedies to promote oral health and whole-body wellbeing. The approach prioritizes the use of non-toxic materials and minimally invasive techniques to preserve natural tooth structure and prevent further damage.

JB Dentistry works with patients to create treatment plans and selects materials for procedures that align with their health considerations and values. For restorations, the clinic offers mercury-free fillings as an alternative to older amalgams containing liquid mercury and other trace metals which are linked to off-gassing health concerns. Mercury-free options include composite resin - a mixture of acrylic reinforced with powdered glass filler, porcelain, or glass ionomer, depending on the patient’s needs.

In addition, Jaline Boccuzzi ensures that gluten-free products are used for patients with gluten intolerance or celiac disease. As she notes, some dental adhesives and topical anesthetics may contain hidden gluten and therefore it is important for patients to highlight their requirements.

The clinic also offers restorations that do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA) - a controversial endocrine-disrupting chemical found in some dental resins. Patients can discuss materials and their preferences with the clinic.

Jaline Boccuzzi, DMD, AAACD, PA / JBDentistry has provided comprehensive dental care for over 22 years. The clinic’s services include holistic, general, and cosmetic dentistry.

A satisfied patient said: “I’ve been going to Dr. Boccuzzi for 14 years and she is a great dentist. She is very professional, friendly, and always has the latest technology, and her staff are also very responsive. I highly recommend her clinic.”
