She is focused on helping develop systems of care with low barriers to starting treatment and bringing attention to the importance of treating both internet gaming disorder and gambling disorder. Furthermore, Dr. Brunner is a Medical Consultant for Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Center City, Minnesota, a role she embraced in 2021. Dr. Brunner has a decade of experience in outpatient addiction medicine practice, and is now transitioning to be the CMO of Workit Health, a role in which she hopes to continue to support the model of decreasing barriers to patient access to evidence-based care. 

Dr. Brunner commenced her educational journey with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience acquired at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002. She then obtained her medical degree in 2007 from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed her family medicine residency with the same educational venue in 2012. 

Subsequent to her training, Dr. Brunner received board certification in family medicine and addiction medicine through the American Board of Family medicine (ABFM). She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (DFASAM), as well as Region VI Director of the ASAM Board of Directors. She is also the immediate past president of the Minnesota Society of Addiction Medicine. 

Dr. Brunner is a passionate advocate for stigma reduction and expansion of treatment options for patients with substance use disorders.

North Korea on Tuesday reported on its missile launch earlier this week, saying the test of a new combat weapon system was significant in demonstrating the advancement of the country's weapons technology. Gov't bans private academies' placement tests for young children

Private academies will be prohibited from conducting placement tests for preschoolers starting next month, the education ministry said Tuesday, as part of efforts to curb severe forms of early childhood private education. The ban will take effect Oct. 1 under the revised Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Establishment and Operation of Private Teaching Institutes and Extracurricular Lessons, which was passed during a Cabinet meeting the same day.
